BREITLING has launched a comprehensive overhaul of the classic Chronomat mechanical timing series, introducing the all-new ChronoMAT B01 chronograph 42 (model AB0158101A1S1). On the basis of fully retaining the iconic riding style dial and classic design language of the early 1980s Chronomat, the new model comprehensively optimizes the case structure, bringing a thinner and more fitting wearing experience, becoming one of the most eye-catching sports luxury watches of the brand this year.
This stainless steel stopwatch features a 42mm diameter and a significantly reduced case thickness from the previous generation s 15.1mm to 13.77mm. Paired with a new hidden ear design, the lines are smoother and more elegant, fitting the wrist size of most wearers. The case has a professional waterproof performance of 200 meters and is equipped with curved sapphire crystal glass with double-sided anti reflective treatment, effectively reducing glare interference and ensuring clear reading under various lighting conditions.
The core upgrade of CHRONOMAT B01 42 lies in the bezel structure. Breitling has integrated the previously separated bezel ring, inserts, riding scale, and screws into a single component, which not only significantly improves the structural strength and durability, but also makes the visual effect more neat and unified. The one-way rotating ratchet bezel retains the raised riding style scale, number and minute markings, while reducing the size of the crown shoulder guard. The inner ring cancels the previous generation s 1/100 scale design, making the overall layout more concise and practical.
The watch is equipped with a classic white dial, paired with a contrasting black timing dial. The three-dimensional fitting hour markers and central pointer are coated with Super LumiNova luminous coating, ensuring fast time reading in dark environments. The display function includes a central hour and minute hand, a small second hand at the 9 o clock position, a central timing second hand, a 3 o clock 30 minute timing dial, a 6 o clock 12 hour timing dial, and a date window below 6 o clock, with a reasonable and clear layout.
The power core is equipped with the Caliber B01 automatic winding timing movement produced by Breitling, which has obtained COSC Swiss Observatory certification. It is equipped with column wheels and a vertical clutch structure, making the timing start and stop more precise and smooth, effectively avoiding the shaking of the timing pointer. The movement has a vibration frequency of 28800 times per hour and is equipped with 47 gemstones, providing long-term stable timekeeping accuracy. The watch is paired with a straight black rubber strap and a stainless steel folding buckle, combining sportiness and comfort, suitable for daily wear and various leisure sports scenes.
