OMEGA introduces the new Seamaster Diver 300M Black Black watch. To create a true sense of depth and to symbolise the darkest corners of the ocean, the watch takes advantage of the versatility of ceramics by using black ceramic in every detail of the case, crown, bezel and dial, and conveying the ultimate depth of a Black Black watch through a black rubber strap with a black ceramic clasp. The new Seamaster Black Black perfectly conveys the ultimate depth of the Black Black watch. The case of the new Seamaster Black Black is made of black ceramic, as are the crown, the helium valve and the edges of the caseback. The ceramic bezel of the watch has been polished instead of polished as in the past. The bezel s indexes are also engraved, and the black rubber strap (the clasp is also black ceramic) creates the impression of a thoroughly black watch. The black ceramic (zirconium dioxide) dial is the same as its predecessor, but this time the brand uses laser etching almost exclusively for every detail of the dial, including the wave pattern and even the brand s logo and indexes, giving the dial a unified yet contrasting look. Although the dial is entirely black, it is not completely black, and the black colour of the watch reflects multiple layers of light and angle. It is worth mentioning that OMEGA has also changed the Super-LumiNova luminescent material on the hour-markers and the tips of the hands to anthracite, thus completing the last piece of the all-black design puzzle and making it the piece in the Seamaster Diving 300 Metre collection that best interprets the all-black mood. The transparent caseback is a colourless sapphire crystal, and the parts of the 8806 Master Chronometer-certified movement are not black-plated, so while we are still amazed by the all-black look of the watch, we are a little surprised when we turn to the caseback, where the parts of the movement are still silver-white, but this small inconsistency does not detract at all from the movement s specifications, which include resistance to magnetic forces of up to 15,000 gauss, power reserve, and a power reserve of up to 1,500 metres. With a magnetic resistance of 15,000 gauss, a power reserve of 55 hours, and a Grandmaster chronometer certified for all aspects of performance and accuracy, practicality and CP value remain two of the watch s main strengths.
