Omega Speedmaster First OMEGA in Space
On October 3, 1962, astronaut Walter Schirra wore a Speedmaster CK 2998 watch he purchased himself during the Sigma 7 space mission of the Mercury Project. This watch became the first Omega timepiece worn in space. The latest model pays tribute to the pioneering watch of that year, fully displaying the design essence of the second-generation Speedmaster and creating a perfect modern classic.
Exterior design: a fusion of retro details and modern craftsmanship
Case Material: The case with a diameter of 39.70 mm is cast in polished and frosted stainless steel, paired with a brown leather strap and a stainless steel buckle, showing a low-key texture in retro style.
Iconic bezel: The black aluminum bezel ring features a classic tachymeter scale and the iconic Dot Over Ninety scale, reminiscent of the Speedmaster collection of the 1960s.
Dial craftsmanship: The grey-blue surface reproduces the unique color of the various CK 2998 models from the 1960s and is treated with a chemical vapor deposition (CVD) coating to give it a delicate metallic texture. The indexes and angled hour/minute hands are treated with a vintage-style luminous coating, and the central baton-shaped second hand is finished with white varnish to match the transferred logo. The three small dials include a 30-minute chronograph dial at 3 o clock, a 12-hour chronograph dial at 6 o clock, and a small second hand display dial at 9 o clock. The layout is symmetrical and practical.
Commemorative elements: The dial and crown are decorated with a vintage-style OMEGA logo, and the case back is engraved with the famous Seahorse emblem and the words THE FIRST OMEGA IN SPACE and OCTOBER 3, 1962 to witness historical moments.
Movement performance: modern sublimation of classic lineage The built-in Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 3861 is the latest version of the calibre 321 worn by astronauts on space missions. It incorporates advanced technology to ensure precise operation. Each watch comes with a special watch box containing a LEGENDARY MOONWATCH information leaflet.

    I like the look of this watch for every day wear. It's obviously a watch of good quality. The only blem I had was trying to figure out how the band worked! Once I did that, it was easy to get on and I actually like the way it works.
